@Mambito_b it’s mostly for insurance if the enemy throws armor at you once you hit the coast. It gives you piercing and a little bit of hardness for the price of only 1 combat width.
If you’re confident the opponent doesn’t have armored units, you can do without it. But for 1 combat width, it’s pretty efficient to have it on
