Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of hoidesigner.com and its features, including the division, tank, ship and aircraft designers, the community catalog, the battle simulator, and paid features ("the service"), run by Hoidesigner ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

How we handle personal information is explained separately in our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country requires it to consent to online services, to use the service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf before you make a purchase.
• Many features work without an account. Saving to the cloud, publishing, commenting, voting, running battles and buying Pro require one. Supporter can be bought without an account and claimed on one afterwards.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us at support@hoidesigner.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
• If you sign in with Discord or Steam, your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. What happens to your data when you do is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the designs, descriptions, comments and other content you create ("your content").

• Private content, such as designs saved to your Library, is visible only to you. We access it only to run the service, to fix problems, or where the law requires it.
• Published content. When you publish a design, post a comment, or create a share link, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute it on and in connection with the service. That includes showing it in the catalog and on your profile, generating preview images and share cards, and letting other users view, load and adapt it in their own designs.
• That licence continues for content you published after you delete your account, because published designs and comments stay on the site under a "Deleted User" name. If you want specific published content removed, email us.
• You are responsible for your content. Only publish content you have the right to share, and do not include other people's personal information.

4. Acceptable use

When using the service, you agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights
• Spam, impersonate others, or manipulate votes, ratings or other community features, including with multiple accounts
• Get around rate limits, run-credit limits, Pro restrictions or other access controls, or use another person's account
• Scrape the service or send automated requests in a way that puts load on it, except for normal search-engine crawling
• Probe, attack or disrupt the service or its infrastructure, or upload malicious code

We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

5. Pro, Supporter and other purchases

• Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or annually. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account settings, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Supporter is a one-time payment for a cosmetic badge. It does not renew and does not include Pro features.
• Battle simulator runs. Free accounts get a daily allowance of runs that resets every day. Runs have no monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. If we change the price of Pro, we will tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
• Pro features may change over time as the service develops. We will not remove the core of what you paid for during a period you have already paid for.
• If something went wrong with a purchase, email support@hoidesigner.com. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under consumer law where you live.

6. Game data and trademarks

Hoidesigner is an independent tool made for the Hearts of Iron IV community. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Paradox Interactive. Hearts of Iron, Hearts of Iron IV and related names, art and game data are the property of Paradox Interactive AB and are used here for reference.

Stats, battle results and recommendations are calculated from game files and our own models. They aim to match the game but can differ from it, especially after game patches or with mods. Treat them as planning aids, not guarantees.

7. Our content

The site's software, design and original content, apart from your content and Paradox's material, belong to us. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes, and you may share screenshots, share cards and links to designs freely.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service running, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features, including free features, and may limit usage to protect the service.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we are required to by law. If we close the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or on the site. If you keep using the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
