Cold weather specialists is a cracked doctrine, but two things that are greatly intriguing about the competing doctrine are the initiative gained by mountaineers, and the artillery bonus on recon rangers you get with elevate the mountaineers.
I decided to do something weird, and select doctrines that aren't all about offensive operations. The initiative from elevate the mountaineers, signal companies, and the coordination bonus from grand assault creates a unique set of conditions.
If you throw a bunch of these guys in one battle, they will all select one target and often concentrate and hit that target together, with about 50% more probability than you'd see with a normal unit (This gets better with radio research,) and then focus down the next one, effectively making them really good at reinforce meming.
You get to see rabid units that know when the enemy is weak, and then hammer the enemy there. Nice.
As a special forces unit, they have HP issues, but I've mitigated it with my normal commando HP stacking that has to be the unique flavor of my divisions at this point. You can probably just smell the commandos just walking in the room. Its my MSG, I like the surviving bodies, experienced soldiers, reduced attrition, and low equipment losses, even if it has a short term cost.
I'm sorry, I'll use anti-commando deodorant next time.
33 Width is another combat width you might target with this, but I kept it a bit skinny to fit with the mountain theme.

@123 I make posts like this because highlighting how to wield the basics to make smart choices makes us all a little better off.
The meta way of doing things is very uniform, cut and dry, it will break the AI with a brutal soft attack based power spike, highlighting the positives of other approaches to where you can use often unexplored design language is more interesting.
