A tank I designed for regimental supports when I realized with an artillery coupon you could have the improved medium cannon before 1941. So I went with the common case "What if one armored coupon one artillery coupon" that some tech discount poor nations like poland can have. With a petrol electric engine you can overwhelm the maluses to breakthrough a fixed superstructure gives you and use the breakthrough bonus on a medium cannon to still achieve an acceptable breakthrough on a light tank. The levels of attack on a tiny light tank here are somewhat comedic. When labeled as a light tank, this gives a good 50 breakthrough, so if you are willing to spend 480 IC on just unreliable scouting vehicles you can get a lot of breakthrough there as well. Its expensive enough you should just use a medium tank instead in most cases, but the attack and breakthrough are good so its up to you. This is definitely in the realm of wonderweapon tank builds though so it could be funny to deploy once. Mobile assault and recon + streamlined deployment makes a design like this push far harder than it normally should. As we lack generic MIO support not really a lot I can do to show how much better this is in a practical scenario as these meme builds are whats helped the most for MIO's due to the relatively high amount of free reliability available making high reliability cost parts strong. Either you 1.5x how many you can produce with a refurbrishing plant (~-15% output cost ~+20% output without resorting to memey conversion schemes,) or you get slightly increased stats and 5-20% reliability.

View tank design → Mechanized support version. If you say screw it to the armor its possible for this design to match the speed of mechanized, which gives a lot of attack in the regimental support slot for cheap. Medium armor is better for hard attack and penetration, where as a design like this achieves the close to best possible tank destroyer cost per soft attack in this slot. (You can get the cost down to ~12, but I decided to stack more stats here.) Still feels a little gross like you are swarming your enemy with RC cars that just want to shred.
